Terms of Use & Licence

Last updated: 2026-09-27

This page is two things at once: the terms for using this website, and the licence agreement for our apps, Custom Mouse and Focus Clock. By using the site or installing an app you accept them. Your purchase is additionally subject to the terms of Lemon Squeezy, which is the seller of record.

1. Who you are dealing with

These terms are between you and D24, an independent software studio in Tokyo, Japan (“we”, “us”). Our contact address is hello@d24.tokyo, and our seller details are on the business information page. “The app” means whichever of our macOS apps you buy or use — Custom Mouse or Focus Clock — including any update we provide under section 6. Where a section applies to only one of them, it says so.

2. Accepting these terms

You accept these terms by using this website, by purchasing a licence, or by installing or using the app — whichever happens first. If you do not accept them, do not use the site or the app. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

3. The licence we grant you

When you buy one of our apps we grant you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use that app for as long as these terms are observed, on any Mac that you own or personally control. A licence covers one app for one person. If several people in an organisation will use it, buy one licence per person — write to us for anything larger and we will arrange it.

4. What you may not do

  • Resell, rent, lend, sublicense, or redistribute the app, or publish your download link.
  • Remove, disable or circumvent any licensing, signing or integrity mechanism.
  • Modify, translate or create derivative works of the app, except where section 8 or the law allows it.
  • Use the app to build a competing product, or to do anything unlawful.

Decompiling or reverse engineering is prohibited except to the extent that applicable law permits it regardless of contract — for example for interoperability under EU or Japanese copyright law.

5. Your purchase record

Our apps do not use a licence key or an online account, so there is nothing to activate after you install one (Custom Mouse does need the macOS permission described in section 12). Your purchase is recorded by Lemon Squeezy under the email address you used at checkout, and the receipt email is your proof of purchase — please keep it. To download the app again, use the receipt or Lemon Squeezy’s order page, or email us from the address you bought with.

6. Updates, versions and changes to the app

Your purchase includes updates within the same major version (for example 2.0 → 2.4, or 1.0 → 1.3) at no extra cost, for as long as we publish them. A future major version may be offered as a paid upgrade. We may add, change or remove features in an update, and we may discontinue the app; if we discontinue it, the version you already hold keeps working under this licence, but we are not obliged to keep it compatible with future releases of macOS or with third-party software.

7. Ownership

You are buying a licence, not the software. All intellectual property rights in the app, this website, and their design, text and code remain with us or our licensors.

8. Open-source components

Part of Custom Mouse is based on MIT-licensed open-source code (© Roger Hughes). That component remains governed by its own licence, whose full text ships with the app; where that licence grants you rights that go beyond these terms, that licence prevails for that component.

9. Price, payment and tax

Our apps are sold and delivered by Lemon Squeezy, LLC as Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy is the seller for your transaction: it takes payment, issues the receipt or invoice, determines and collects any applicable VAT, GST or consumption tax, and handles chargebacks, under its buyer terms. Prices shown on this site may change at any time, but never retroactively for a purchase you have already made. The price you see at checkout, including tax, is the price you pay.

10. Delivery

The download link is sent by email immediately after payment is confirmed. You can pay on any device; if you buy on a phone or tablet, open that email on your Mac to install. If it has not arrived within a few minutes, check your spam folder and then email us — we will resend it.

11. Refunds and the right of withdrawal

Our policy. If the app does not work as described on this site, tell us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you in full. We would rather fix the problem first, so please describe what went wrong — but a refund is not conditional on letting us try.

EU and UK consumers. You normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. Because this is digital content made available immediately, under Lemon Squeezy’s buyer terms, by downloading the app you consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose that right of withdrawal once the download begins. Refunds under our own policy above are unaffected.

Japan. The Act on Specified Commercial Transactions does not provide a cooling-off period for digital products delivered online, so the policy above is the one that applies. Statutory remedies for non-conformity under the Civil Code are unaffected.

Refunds under this section are processed by Lemon Squeezy, back to the original payment method. Once refunded, your licence ends and you must stop using and delete the app.

12. Requirements, and what each app needs from macOS

Check the requirements before buying — each app’s requirements, and the setups it has been tested on, are listed on its product page.

Custom Mouse requires macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later and an Apple Magic Mouse; launch-at-login requires macOS 13 or later. It needs Accessibility permission in order to send clicks and gestures; granting it is your decision and you can withdraw it at any time in System Settings, though the app cannot function without it.

Focus Clock does not open on macOS 12 or earlier, and needs no special macOS permission. Its finish alert follows your Mac’s sound settings, so it is silent while your Mac is muted, and it can be quieted by Presentation Mode.

Our apps are convenience utilities for ordinary desktop use. They are not designed or tested for safety-critical, medical, industrial or other environments where a missed or spurious click, or a late or missed alert, could cause harm, and must not be relied on in those settings. In particular, Focus Clock is not a substitute for a dedicated alarm or medical reminder.

13. Support

Support is provided by email in English and Japanese, on a best-effort basis, for the current version of each app. We aim to reply within a few business days. There is no service level guarantee, and support does not include customising the app for you or supporting modified copies.

14. The website

We try to keep everything here accurate and current, but the site is provided “as is”. Prices, features, availability and these terms may change. You may not scrape, mirror or reuse the site’s content, design or code except as ordinary browsing requires, or as copyright law otherwise permits.

15. Warranties and disclaimer

We warrant that the app will perform substantially as described on this site at the time you bought it. Beyond that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, the app and the site are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will work with every Mac, every version of macOS or every third-party application.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits your statutory rights as a consumer, which apply in addition to the above.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the app, this site or these terms is limited to the amount you actually paid for your licence in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost data, lost time or business interruption.

These limits do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be limited: our own intent or gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or — for consumers in Japan — the liability that Article 8 of the Consumer Contract Act prevents us from excluding. Where a consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you greater protection than this section, that law applies to you instead.

17. Termination

This licence ends automatically if you materially breach these terms — for example by redistributing the app or publishing your download link. On termination you must stop using the app and delete all copies. Termination for breach does not entitle you to a refund. You may end the licence at any time by deleting the app.

18. Trademarks

Custom Mouse and Focus Clock are independent products and have not been authorized, sponsored, or otherwise approved by Apple Inc. Apple, Magic Mouse, macOS and Mac are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. “Magic Mouse” is used only to describe compatibility.

19. Export control and sanctions

You may not use or export the app in breach of Japanese, EU, UK or US export control or sanctions law, and you confirm you are not located in, or ordinarily resident in, a territory subject to comprehensive sanctions.

20. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version always lives at this URL with its last-updated date, and the version in force for your purchase is the one published when you bought your licence. Changes never apply retroactively to reduce rights you already have in a licence you have paid for.

21. Governing law, jurisdiction and language

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of Japan, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence, or of your right to bring proceedings there where that law so provides.

These terms are published in English and Japanese. In the event of any discrepancy, the Japanese version prevails.

22. General

If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force and the provision is applied as closely as possible to its original intent. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them as part of a transfer of the business, without reducing your rights. These terms and the documents they reference are the entire agreement between us about our apps.
